Your California Privacy Rights
California Consumer Privacy Act. The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 ("CCPA") provides California residents with specific rights regarding their Personal Data. This section describes your CCPA rights and explains how to exercise those rights.
• Right to Know. You have the right to request, no more than twice in any 12-month period, disclosure of the following information:
- Categories of Personal Information we collect.
- Categories of sources from which Personal Information is collected.
- Categories of Personal Information sold or disclosed to third parties.
- Categories of third parties with whom such Personal Information is sold or disclosed.
- Business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling Personal Information.
- Specific pieces of Personal Information we collect.
• Right to Deletion under CCPA. You have the right to request the deletion of your personal information that we collect or maintain. Once we receive your request and confirm your identity, we will delete (and direct our service providers to delete) your personal information from our records, unless an exception applies under the CCPA.
• Right to Opt-Out under CCPA. You have the right to opt-out from having your Personal Information sold to third parties, if applicable. We have third party cookies on our website that get access to your personal information in order to assist us with analyzing our marketing effectiveness and providing you with tailored content and advertising based on your interactions with our or other websites. This technology allows these advertising partners to receive information about your activities on our website, which is then associated with your browser or device. These companies may use this data to serve you more relevant ads as you browse the Internet. We also share information as described above with retailers, vehicle service providers, and business partners who may use this information for their own business purposes. Under some state laws, this type of sharing data may be considered a “sale” of information. You can opt out of this sharing by clicking on the "Do Not Sell My Info" link on our website. If you opt-out of cookies and then access our website from another device, you will need to opt-out of cookies on the other device as well. See the Third Party Opt Out section below for additional opt out options. JLR USA has no actual knowledge of any sales of Personal Information of minors under 16 years of age without affirmative authorization.
• Non-Discrimination. You will not be subject to discriminatory treatment for exercising a right to access, delete, or opt-out under the CCPA. JLR USA will not discriminate by:
- Denying you goods or services.
- Charging you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties.
- Providing you a different level or quality of goods or services.
- Suggesting that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.
Exercising Your CCPA Right to Know or Delete
To exercise your rights under CCPA you may submit a request here:
https://www.landroverusa.com/contact-us/contact-us.html. (Select Category: “Customer Relationship Center” and Topic: “California Consumer Privacy Act Request” from the drop-down menu.) Alternatively, you can call us at
1-800-452-4827 and state that you have a request under CCPA.
Please note that these rights apply only to select California consumers and exclude job applicants, employees, and business contacts. Only you or an authorized agent registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your Personal Information. You may also make a verifiable consumer request on behalf of your minor child. Except where you have provided an agent with a Power of Attorney pursuant to Sections 4000 – 4465 of the California Probate Code, when using an authorized agent you must: (1) provide the agent with signed permission clearly describing their authority to make a request on your behalf; (ii) verify your own identity; and (iii) directly confirm that you have provided the authorized agent permission to submit the request. That agent must also be able to verify their identity with us and provide us with their authority to act on your behalf.
Verifying Your CCPA Request
The verifiable consumer request initiated by you or your authorized agent must:
- Include your full legal name, phone number, and email address.
- Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.
We cannot respond to your request or provide you with Personal Information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the Personal Information relates to you. Making a verifiable consumer request does not require you to create an account with us. One of our representatives will contact you in order to verify your identity. You may need to provide additional information in order to verify your request, such as recent commercial or identity information. Depending on the nature of the request, we may require additional verification actions be taken, including but not limited to providing a signed declaration under penalty of perjury that you are the consumer whose Personal Information is the subject of the request. We will only use this information to verify the requestor's identity or authority to make the request.
CCPA Response Timing and Format
We endeavor to respond to a verifiable consumer request within forty-five (45) days of its receipt. If we require more time (up to 90 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request.
Other California Privacy Rights
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents who have provided personally identifiable information to us or our third-party advertisers and marketing partners, if any, to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personally identifiable information to third parties for direct marketing purposes. Requests should be submitted via email to
privacy@jaguarlandrover.com and should include CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS in the subject line. We will need your first and last name, mailing address, and email address in order to process your request. Within thirty days of receiving such a request, we will provide a list of the categories of personally identifiable information disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes during the immediately preceding calendar year, if any, along with the names and addresses of these third parties, if any. Please be aware that not all information sharing is covered by the requirements of Section 1798.83 and only information on covered sharing will be included in our response. This request may be made no more than once per calendar year.
Your "Do Not Track" Browser Setting
Some web browsers incorporate a “Do Not Track” feature (DNT) that signals to the websites that you visit that you do not want to have your online activity tracked. Many websites and applications, including the Web Properties, do not currently respond to web browser DNT signals because such signals are not yet uniform. For more information about DNT signals, please visit
http://allaboutdnt.com. Other third-party websites may keep track of your browsing activities when they provide you with content, which enables them to customize what they present to you on their websites.
